The life and death of Harriri remain wrapped in mystery. His assassination caused widespread disruption; it started with the withdrawal of the Syrian army from Lebanon and lead to an international investigation that involved the interrogation of Syrian officials in an attempt to reveal the parties who perpetrated the assassination.
